SS12 Trends- Milan

Featuring a very 50′s silhouette from Prada as inspired by Cadillacs, and a very sexy mouth-watering collection by Dolce & Gabbana reminiscent of a Sophia Loren type of Italian woman; a 20′s theme with Roberto Cavalli and Gucci–metallic details are especially abundant in these two, and cool beachside chic filled with encrusted starfishes and shells by Versace, which are all embellished with jewelled stones and metallic studs. On another note, loud colorful prints can be seen in Missoni and Pucci, which gives off a very Boheme gypsy feel but perhaps their take is a tad bit sexier and youthful. Silk floral and retro prints, as well as, all sorts of embellishment is dominant for the upcoming season in Milan. I also notice a micro-trend in baring the midrif, which would mean that it would be good for those with a solid tummy to show it off during the peak of summer. A bare décolletage, back, or midrif will be highlighted by these designers next year. It’s definitely time to work out!
